Jessie Montgomery (CRF 2023) received the 2024 GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Classical Composition for “Rounds,” performed by pianist Awadagin Pratt and the A Far Cry chamber orchestra on the album “Stillpoint.” Congratulations, Jessie!
On her website, Montgomery writes that “Rounds” was “inspired by the imagery and themes from T.S. Eliot’s epic poem Four Quartets, fractals (infinite patterns found in nature that are self-similar across different scales), and the interdependency of all beings.” Click here to watch Jessie’s acceptance speech.
