September 24, 2026 — The World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Tania León’s (CRF 2003) exploration of sounds from across the Americas, Imágenes Mestizas, opens tonight’s concert at the New York Philharmonic. The concert is part of a series of programs welcoming audiences to world-renowned Venezuelan conductor and music director Gustavo Dudamel’s inaugural season at the Phil.
Dudamel makes his way to New York by way of the Los Angeles Philharmonic which closed his historic season with the World Premiere of a piece by Angélica Negrón (CRF 2023) under Dudamel’s direction.
