Matvei Yankelevich (CRF 2021) shared his recent news with us.
-Matvei has announced his new poetry radio show, Ways & Means. The first episode—featuring poet Uche Nduka and his fantastic new book, Scissorwork (Roof Books)—streamed live on Montez Press Radio 9/22; the next episode, on 9/26 at 7PM, features Kay Gabriel (10/26).
–Jacket2 just published David Kaufman’s lucid, insightful, and generous review of Matvei’s chapbook Dead Winter; other reviews are up at ZYZZYVA (by Chiara Bercu), Tablet (by Jake Marmer), and Cleveland Review of Books (by David Brazil).
-More poems from Matvei’s “winter notebook” series have just come out in the new issues of Bath House Journal and Lana Turner, and earlier this summer some appeared in Iterant and A Perfect Vacuum. A reading and conversation about these poems—with Ahmad Almallah, Kevin Platt, and Al Filreis—is now up on PennSound.
-If you’re in New York, come out for the first Colloquy—World Poetry’s new translation event series—on Saturday, October 8, at 4pm in the garden of Unnameable Books. Free with RSVP; refreshments provided.
