Hera Büyüktaşcıyan’s multidisciplinary practice explores the intertwined relationships between memory, place, history, and the more-than-human world. Through recurring themes of displacement, erasure, and transformation, she investigates how landscapes and built environments accumulate, conceal, and transmit hybrid narratives across time. Selected exhibitions include: ARTER (2025); Taipei Biennial (2025); EMST(2023); Tate St Ives (2023); New Museum Triennial (2021); 1st Toronto Biennial (2019); and 56th Venice Biennale – National Pavilion of Armenia (2015).
Dawit L. Petros is a visual artist, researcher, and educator whose study of history informs a sustained examination of displaced legacies and their contemporary effects. Petros installs photographs, films, sculptural objects, and sound work according to performative, painterly, or site-responsive logics. A 20-year retrospective of his work is currently on view at The Image Center in Toronto. He will be participating in the forthcoming Toronto Biennial with an installation across six sites at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. Petros is the co-founder, with Heba Y. Amin, of Black Athena Collective.
